You can't because it's hurt you so deeply that you know that you couldn't bear to go through that again" obviously meaning that she can't answer this guys calls or messages because he hurt her very bad and she can't go through it again. This song has been rumored to be about Jake which would make sense, considering a lot of her songs are about him on Red. This song does a great job of explaining how one person can mean the world to you and you really want to give them another chance and try again but you know that you can't for the sake of not only you but for them . At the end of the song when she states " I bet this time of night you're still up, I bet you're tired from a long hard week , I bet you're sitting in your chair by the window looking out at the city and I hope sometimes you wonder about me." this is a crucial lyric because it means that she is hoping he still wonders about how she is doing and she hopes he still thinks about her like she does of him . And I think this song is relatable to a lot of people out there, and alose this song is Mina of like an " I forgive you" to Jake gyllenhall because in "All too well" she is very emotional and kind of angry because he was the one to destroy what they have . So I think this ballot is a way of forgiving him and sort of her final goodbye .
